Shimmy, Shake it and Sit down! Our onlseated exercise/dance classes are designed for you to dance like nobody watching from the safety and comfort of your chair
This low impact dance class will get you booging to improve mobility, strength and flexibility. Plus give you a smile on your face for the rest of the week.
The Story behind Sit Fit
Why Sit Fit began?
Our mission here at Baila con Cameron has always been to create fun, friendly dance lessons that are accessible to EVERYONE. But also to create a family and a community of support and inclusion.
When lockdown began in March of 2020, I was unable to travel home or see my favourite person... my nan. After many long phone calls, I was hit with a feeling that my nan was lonely, and unable to get her usual exercise / walks.
So I began to work on Sit Fit. I wanted to create seated dance classes for those with decreased mobility or unable to leave their chairs. Something that brought a bit of laughter and light into the homes of those who were isolated and helped them to keep moving and active.
At the time, these were designed for my Nan. However I soon set upon a mission to spread some positivity. I would never have guessed how impactful and popular these videos would become.
Having been viewed by 1000s of people from across the world, the videos began to be used across the UK in care facilities, nursing homes and I was receiving messages from those who had suffered from Covid-19, recovering from strokes and those with dementia saying how these videos were getting them through the days and seriously impacted their health and mental well-being.
And even better, my Nan loved them and is still dancing away in her chair now! All of our seated classes are dedicated to my Nan. In every shimmy and kick we do, she is there!
